I think I forgot to mention that I’ve been taking a Letterpress class recently. More about the class later, the point is the women in that class are amazingly talented. I hope some of them will share some projects with us in the future. In the meantime, we were trying to come up with uses for a collection of doilies I have. These lions are pretty clever. I might have to try these.

I’ve decided I’m going to try making jam. I was really excited about this until I learned how many varieties of dangerous bacteria there are in fruit. But I’m moving forward and hopefully no one will get sick. Perfect Gocco project.

Have you seen these? Toastabags? Well I need one right now. With this handy bag you can make grilled cheese or re-crisp pizza in a toaster! Office lunches just go better. You can find them on Amazon for about $10.

Day #5 of the diet

by J.S. on August 27, 2010

This diet is some kind of witchcraft. It’s day 5 and I’ve lost about 4 pounds already! I don’t feel hungry all the time. I don’t have head aches. It’s really kind of amazing. I think I’m going to try to go another week and see what happens.

Positives: I’m losing weight and actually like what I’m eating.

Negatives: o cupcakes like the ones above or booze.

Setbacks: I’ll be having a (at least) cocktail tonight.

Handmade Caramel and Chocolate Sauce

from creaturecomfortsblog.com

I think I mentioned this earlier that I’m on the hunt for things to make for holiday gifts this year. Incase you haven’t noticed, we’re in the middle of a crappy economy. I also believe that there’s something to be said for making a gift. So much thought has to go into it. Really the lamest thing in the world can become the greatest gift ever if you make it (and package it right). As I find things for us to make for the holidays I’ll post them here. Side note to the Poor Girl Family, you will not be allowed to make these items as you’ll probably be receiving them.

Found here, here and here.

So I’ve finally decide to do it. I’m hosting my first Poor Girl Party in September. I think it’s going to be a cocktail/make stuff party. We’ll see how it goes, I know people shudder at the word “craft”. How cute would these be for a favor/place setting?? I think I need to make these. I’ll keep you posted on the plans for the party…
