Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you’re all being worshiped like the  queens you are today. To do my part, I’m offering the first ever Poor Girl giveaway. I’m super excited and I hope you are too. In the next couple of weeks my new Etsy shop will be up and running and will feature some fun and inexpensive bits of joy. To get things started off I’m giving away this cute clutch made by yours truly. It’s perfect for summer and ready to go to a good home.

Since nothing in life is free, you’ll have do a little work. Leave a comment with the best Valentine’s Day gift YOU ever gave. The winner will be announced on Friday. Good luck!

Hmmm, well I love making handmade Valentine cards. Sometimes the personal touch just brings a smile!

So when I was in college my boyfriend and I worked at Abercrombie and Fitch and I got to work early before my shift started and decorated his locker (where we stored our stuff) with hearts and candy…then I bought his favorite meal to have for his dinner break and put that in a lunch bag in the fridge. Then when the store closed I switch CD’s and played the Dave Matthews Band Under the Table and Dreaming album (our first concert we attended together) and we danced in the middle of the store. Then I got the surprise of my life when we walked to his car there in the passenger seat was a dozen pink roses (my favorite) and a Tiffany & Co box with a heart bracelet inside. Ahhh young love so pure and innocent

I would like to think that everyday is Valentine’s Day for my family. I give a little piece of my heart to them daily. If I had to single out one special gift it would be when Kate and Casey were in primary school I put a Valentine note in their lunchboxes announcing that I was going to eat lunch with them that day. Something little, but they loved it.

I wish I could say it was the geek toys I got for him one year but he tells me the best gift i ever gave was a mini scrapbook of special events/ moments we shared.

Even though I missed the deadline, I wouldn’t have been able to offer up anything nearly as good as the above posts (I’m not one much for Valentine’s day). But I’m really enjoying your site; as a poor girl myself in a new town, your ideas and craftiness are giving me inspiration for decorating our new place. Cheers!
